Primary School Debating

Congratulations to the sixth class girls who reached the final in the Primary School Debating Competition on the 31st of January. Carnew N.S. proposed the motion “Religion should be taught outside of school”. Their hard work and dedication throughout the past few weeks was inspiring. On the day their performance was no different. Unfortunately Carnew N.S. was narrowly defeated by Sheilbaggan. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we look forward to taking part in the competition in the following years. Many thanks to Mrs Tena Sheil who mentored the girls during the course of the competition.

Indoor Football Victory

Well done to our boys team from 3rd and 4th class who contested an indoor football tournament in Aughrim today. The boys played superbly as a team and came out as winners of the tournament beating teams from Arklow and the home team Aughrim along the way. The boys displayed great skills in the areas of tackling, blocking, passing and score taking to register big scores in all of their games. All ten of the panel made big contributions on the day so well done to Thomas Collins, Cathal Rooney, Dillon Lee, Jason House, Roland Chlechowitz, Will Molloy, Shane Byrne, Richard Greene, Daniel Redmond and Ben Gilligan. The boys would like to thank Tom Darcy for  mentoring them throughout the day.
